Ages 7 and Up, meets 1st Thur of each month starting Feb 2nd

A Time 2 Sew - A Time for Christ

Sewers of all ages and skill level will learn  and practice sewing skills, participate in community projects, learn about Christs love for them.

Teen 2 Teen

Creative 4 Christ

Ages 13 and Up 3rd Thurs of every month

Learning Crafts and Sewing projects of all kinds.  Participating in community Projects and outreach.  Learning about Christs Love for them.

 

All the World

3rd Saturday of every month. starting Feb 18

ages 7 and up-registration required

Bring your Life of Faith or American Girl Doll and join us as we look at different countries, cultures and clothing from around the world.  Jesus said Go into all the World and preach the good news to all creation. Mark 16:15

Learn about the clothes, the culture, the foods of some of the places others have gone and are going.

Fabulous Fabric, Favorite Foods, Funky Friends on the First Friday from Five till we Faint.

Bring a Sewing or Craft Project to work on or show off. Don't forget to bring a friend if you like and a snack to share and we will all sew and play!

 

2012 Events

Spring Break Sewing Camp

3 days all day

beginner to advanced

ages 7 and up

We will be getting together to sew and learn more about Christ living in us. Learning about His great love for us.

Sewing project to choice from to match you skill level.  Everyone will also work on a Tapestries (banner) that will reminds of what Christ is doing in us, what He has done for us and the values he share in Proverbs 31 encourage us.

 

Spring Youth Fashion Show

5th Annual Fashion Show April 21, 2012

Rural Alaska and Alaska Native People

Adding a Theme this year with a Theme Category we will be give young seamstresses a chance to show off their creativity and will highlight 2 of the local non-profits that support and encourage youth in village Alaska.

Hi! Welcome to Aurora Creative Designs Sewing Studio

 

I'm glad you've found your way here to our site. I started sewing in the mid 70's. I did some sewing with my mother growing up (mostly tweaking the tension on her Singer Jeannie, sewing on my blue jeans) and in Jr. High.(back when it was called Jr High, instead of Middle School) I did my first shirt with buttons, cuffs, and a collar. I was learning that I loved sewing.

At age 19 I bought my first sewing machine, It was a Kenmore from Sears. I found I enjoyed every new project and challenge, always willing to tackle new skills and techniques. Perusing through every sewing book and guide I could find. In '83' I got a sewing position with a couple of ladies who owned a sewing shop in Alabama. It took no time at all to realise there was so much for me to learn about the art of sewing.

Over the following years I learned more skills and techniques as I sewed for family, children, friends, friends of friends, and worked on many different kinds sewing projects .

I've owned and operated a sewing business for over 12 years. During that time I've completed Dressmaking and Design Program,  , and worked on all kinds of challenging projects. Sewing wedding gowns, bridesmaids,  and flower girls dresses to dog booties for the Yukon Quest Mushers.  Sewing children s wear and  christening gowns to alterations on men suits.

In recent years I’ve come to a place where sharing my love of sewing with the younger generation has captured my heart. I have found these students bring with them new energy, passion, and a fresh creative spark.
